LEGO The Incredibles

LEGO The Incredibles is a cooperative action-adventure game following the events of

the two Disney Pixar movies.

I joined the design team for this project when it was roughly around half way through development. I was assigned to support several level designers with their levels. To work with the senior designer in charge of the character customiser, and to work with the lead combat designer to design & direct combat encounters and set pieces leading to combat encounters in half the story levels of the game.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the senior designer in charge of the character customiser with the implementation of the customisable pieces.

  • Designing and balancing combat encounters and enemy set pieces.

  • Designing gameplay puzzles for collectables.

  • Inheriting several levels to direct the final stages development. Reviewing the content and providing feedback to the team to polish the levels ahead of release. The main focus on the levels from 'The Golden Years' chapter.

  • Stud and level collectable placement.

  • Resolving issues discovered by both playtesting the level myself and receiving JIRA reports from QA.
